I could never quite grasp the fact that your English verse is (so effortlessly) within the traditions of the best American poetry, while you remain one of the greatest Russian poets of our time. The absence of interlocutor is, sadly, not surprising... I can't remember whether it was Schopenhauer or Nietzsche who said it's cold at the very top of the mountain - it sounds like something both dead German men could say... :)
